Abbeville Field Office- 2011

            The Conservation District in conjunction with NRCS  (Natural Resource Conservation Service) provided planning and follow-up assistance 58 active cost-share  contracts that will  provide  $1,073,659.00 in federal funds to local landowners for applying cost share practices that provide environmental benefits to Abbeville County, as well as neighboring counties. These contracts will  be used on 10,640 acres. There are 48 contracts that have recently been completed on 5,218 acres in Abbeville County for  $ $653,768.00

 

 

Cost Share Programs

There are several federal cost share programs available in Abbeville County to assist landowners with their natural resources conservation needs.

Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary program that provides  assistance to farmers and ranchers who face threats to soil and water resources as well as other natural resource concerns

Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) is a voluntary cost share program that encourages landowners to develop quality wildlife habitat on their property
